A chore tracker app for adults.
Short answer
Most chore apps are schedules: wash the sheets every Sunday, tick a box. If your chores happen "when it's been a while", a days-since chore tracker fits better. LastTap shows how long since each chore on your Home Screen, a tap resets it, and three chores are free forever. Sharing chores with a partner on their own phone? Use a rota app like Flatastic or Tody instead.

Why a schedule doesn't fit adult chores
Kids' chore charts work because the chores are fixed: feed the cat, every day. Adult chores mostly aren't. You don't clean the fridge every second Thursday. You clean it when you notice it's been a while. The hard part is knowing how long "a while" actually is.
A schedule app makes you guess a frequency up front, then nags when you miss it. Miss three in a row and the app is a list of failures. A days-since tracker only records what happened. Nothing is ever late unless you ask it to be.
How LastTap works as a chore tracker
- Add a chore, like Changed the sheets or Cleaned the fridge.
- Put its widget on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. Each widget can follow a different chore.
- Do the chore, tap the widget. The count resets to zero without opening the app.
- Optional: one reminder after a week, two weeks or a month. The chore shows Overdue until you reset it.

Every reset is kept in the chore's history, so after a month you can see how often you really clean the bathroom. Usually less often than you'd say.
Chores it suits
- Washing sheets, towels, the bath mat
- Cleaning the fridge, the oven, the extractor filter
- Changing the litter or the vacuum bag
- Descaling the kettle, cleaning the coffee machine
- Car jobs: tyre pressure, screen wash, an oil check
Chore tracker app for couples
Be clear on this one. LastTap syncs through one iCloud account, so it works on every iPhone signed in to that Apple ID. It has no shared lists between two Apple IDs. If you and a partner each want to log from your own phone into one list, LastTap isn't built for that.
Apps built for shared chores, from their UK listings on 28 October 2026:
Flatastic is a shared chore rota with a shopping list and a bill splitter, made in Germany and around since 2014. It handles whose turn it is.
Tody tracks rooms by how dirty they are, not by fixed dates, and household members sync plans across devices. On the App Store since 2013.
Sweepy splits chores between people with a daily plan and a leaderboard. Its full version is a monthly or yearly subscription with a 3-day trial.
What does work with LastTap as a couple: one person keeps the tracker, and "when did we last change the sheets?" has an answer that isn't a guess.
Is there a free chore tracker app?
Yes. LastTap is free to download and three chores are free forever. Not a trial, no time limit.
- Free: three chores, with widgets, the reminder, Overdue, undo, history and iCloud sync.
- One payment (£3.99 in the UK): more chores and the alternative app icons. No subscription.
- Never: ads, an account or tracking.
Three is enough to find out if it works for you. Pick the chores you most often lose track of.
What it won't do
No checklists, no assigned turns, no points, no fixed weekly schedule. If you want the app to tell you what to clean today, a schedule app like Tody or Sweepy does that. LastTap only tells you how long it's been.
