Why "days since" works for watering

Most houseplants don't want water on a fixed day. They want it when the soil is dry enough, and that changes with the season and the room. A reminder every Saturday drowns one plant and dries out another. Knowing it's been 9 days, and the soil feels dry, is usually enough to decide.

LastTap isn't a plant care app. It doesn't identify species, check the weather or say how much water to use. It remembers when you last did it, so you stop wondering if it was Sunday or the Sunday before.

Set it up

  1. Add one event per plant, or per group: Watered the fern, Watered the balcony.
  2. Give it a photo of the plant, your own or a free Unsplash one, so you know the widget at a glance.
  3. Add the widget to your Home Screen. Long-press it, Edit Widget, pick the plant.
  4. Water, then tap the widget. Done, without opening the app.
  5. Optional: a reminder after a week, two weeks or a month. The widget shows Overdue until you water and tap.

Watered? Tap (left). Then it counts up (right).

Every tap lands in the plant's history. Over a few months you see how often you actually water it, which helps when one starts to droop.
